Oolam Documentry Release Function

 

 

A documentary film titled Oolam; The Manipulation, The Fall and The Rise, was released today (7th August) at a function organized by Centre for South Indian Studies, held at DG Vaishnava College, Arumbakkam, Chennai.

This documentary film consists of biography of unknown warrior’s, liberation fighters and native rulers who fought against 350yrs of European Christian tyranny rule in India. This documentary consists of 11 chapters. 12 historical academicians and experts has given detailed explanation covering each 11 chapters in the documentary. The documentary release function was held on 7th August at DG Vaishnava College, Arumbakkam, Chennai.

 

At this function, Thiru L. Murugun, Minister of State in the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying and Ministry of Information and Broadcasting participated in the function as chief guest along with Thiru A.C. Shanmugam, Vice-Chancellor of Dr MGR University and Thiru Ashok Mundra, Correspondent, DG Vaishnava College participated in the function as chief guests. The function started with singing of Tamizh Thai Vazhthu by students of Tamil Music College followed by lighting of Kuttu Villaku (Traditional Lamp) by the chief guests.

The welcome address was given by Thiru M. Kumaresan, Coordinator, Tamil Nadu Chapter, Centre for South Indian Studies. Following the welcome address, Thiru Udhayakumar, sung a patriot song with flute. The detailed exposition behind the Oolam documentary film was given by Anand T. Prasad, Director of Olam Documentary and Working Committee Member, Mediyaan Group. At the meeting, Daulat Jain and Santhanamal Jain who were instrumental behind the release of this documentary, were felicitated by the honourable minister.

 

 

Honourable Minister Thiru L. Murugun released the documentary, and documentary was screened at the big screen in the function. After the screening of documentary, historians and experts who gave the explanation for chapters in the documentary were felicitated. Subsequently, Sasikumar Subramaniam, the actor who played the lead role in documentary was honoured. The director and the people behind making of this documentary were felicitated.

Chief Guests Thiru Ashok Kumar Mundra and Thiru A.C. Shanmugam addressed the meeting. Followed by special address by Honourable Minister Thiru L. Murugun. Thiru. L. Murugun remembered those greatest freedom fighters who fought for the liberation of European Christian tyranny rule. Thiru. L. Murugun accoladed those who were behind the creation of Olam documentary. Thiru L. Murugun in his special address said like India was leading force before the occupation of British, our country will again become the torch bearer for the entire world by 100th year of independence in 2047.
