Lecture on Swami Vidyaranya Maharshi Concludes Successfully
The Centre for South Indian Studies, Bhagyanagar Chapter, under Dakshinapatha Studies, successfully organized a lecture on “Swami Vidyaranya Maharshi” on the auspicious occasion of his Janma Tithi Vaishakha Shukla Sapthami falling on 24 April 2026.

The keynote speaker, Sri K. Ravindranath, Vice President of SJBA, Seva Bharathi, delivered an insightful and thought-provoking address highlighting the life, philosophy, and historical contributions of Swami Vidyaranya.
In his lecture, Sri Ravindranath elaborated on the pivotal role played by Swami Vidyaranya in the revival of Hindu civilization during a critical period in Indian history. He emphasized how Vidyaranya Maharshi guided and inspired Harihara Raya and Bukka Raya, who were brought back into the Hindu fold and went on to establish a powerful kingdom that became a stronghold of resistance in the Dakshinapatha region.

The speaker underscored that Swami Vidyaranya’s vision and guidance significantly contributed to sustaining Hindu resistance against invasions, ensuring the preservation of Dharma and cultural continuity in South India. Owing to his immense contributions, he is revered as a “Hindu Dharma Sthapana Acharya.”

Sri Ravindranath also called upon the community to draw inspiration from Vidyaranya’s life and stressed the importance of unity among Hindus in contemporary times.

The event witnessed active participation from scholars, students, and members of the local community, making it a meaningful and enriching session.
